Improve Maths Adviser – Mary

Mary has recent an extensive experience working in under-performing schools to improve attainment and progress within mathematics. She works as assistant head for two days per week and has had significant impact on the KS4 mathematics outcomes, increasing grade C and above by 35 percentage points to 73% in 2013. In her consultancy work she is able to influence departments and leaders by sharing practice, resources and approaches that have resulted in significant impact. This, in turn, has led to improved KS4 outcomes for the schools in which she has worked.

Mary is an analytical thinker who is not afraid to develop creative solutions to improving mathematics leadership and teaching and learning. She is passionate about her craft and purpose and this, along with her direct and informed approach, engages schools and teachers. She is adept at influencing and inspiring curriculum leaders to maintain focus on what is important whilst managing ‘the urgent’.

Mary’s continuing work as an assistant head in a Sheffield school keeps her advice current, credible and realistic. She will personalise the approach to identify clear steps to improvement through high impact actions and will draw on her vast experience to affect change in your school.
