Improve Maths Adviser – Nick
Nick works across a range of schools bringing about improved mathematical outcomes in a variety of contexts. He is an Ofsted inspector in primary, secondary and special schools, acting as a team member as well as leading inspections. He is passionate about the need to develop stronger mathematics pedagogies for all learners, and is confident in training and coaching environments.
Following almost twenty years of successful teaching in a variety of settings, including Special Education, Nick worked as a highly effective adviser locally and nationally. He holds the NPQH and has significant experience of teaching mathematics to pupils with SEN. He is expert in curriculum planning and has written mathematical materials in a variety of media for UK and international publications.
Nick’s skilled lesson design often makes use of ICT to impact on learning and engagement. He will help your team develop their use of ICT as an effective learning medium for pupils at all levels of ability and his experience with SEN pupils will help you to develop suitable mathematics provision for lower ability pupils. He communicates well with school staff at all levels and has a relaxed and friendly style. Able to quickly develop trust with stakeholders, Nick can support your team to improve outcomes and build confidence.
